The Seychelles Islands Foundation (SIF) is entrusted with the protection and management of some of the most extraordinary natural places on Earth. We safeguard Aldabra Atoll, Vallée de Mai and Fond Ferdinand—sites of exceptional ecological, cultural and scientific value that reflect the natural identity of Seychelles.

Who We Are
Nature lies at the heart of Seychelles’ identity. The Seychelles Islands Foundation is the national organisation responsible for conserving and managing the country’s most important natural heritage sites. Established in 1979, SIF works to ensure that these globally significant ecosystems remain protected, resilient and well understood.
Our role goes beyond protection. Through conservation management, scientific research, education and sustainable visitor access, we ensure that Seychelles’ natural heritage continues to inspire, inform and benefit present and future generations.

World Heritage Responsibility
Both Aldabra Atoll and the Vallée de Mai are recognised as UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their outstanding universal value. This status places a responsibility on Seychelles and on SIF to ensure the highest standards of protection, management and reporting.
We take this responsibility seriously and work closely with national authorities and international partners to uphold these commitments.
